FAQ for KGS Room Creation and Maintenance Policy

1. Rooms are assigned to one of the categories TOURNAMENT, LESSON, NATIONAL, CLUB and SOCIAL. No person may be the owner of more than one room in each category.
2. There are restrictions on room names. No name which contradicts the Terms of Service, is controversial, is religious or is politic will be permitted.
3. The laws applicable where the server physically stands apply to all rooms.
4. All permanent rooms are subject to deletion if they do not maintain a minimum level of activity.
5. Rooms which are owned by an expired account are subject to deletion. Before a room is deleted the room message will be edited to request a new owner. If no one wish to be the owner the room will be deleted.
6. Ownership of rooms may be removed if the owner consistently violated the KGS Terms of Service. In this case no attempt will be made to find a new owner.
7. In addition to the above there are restrictions on the rooms based on category, as follows:
   • Policy for new CLUB rooms: The club must exist as a real-world club, otherwise it is created as social. This must be documented by membership of a national organization or a club web page.
   • Policy for new LESSON rooms: Any professional or someone with a teacher account may have a lesson room. Strong amateurs may have a lesson room if they are seen to be teaching and have an established account.
   • Policy for new TOURNAMENT rooms: only serious tournaments are acceptable. Detailed informations will be asked (organizer, registration, etc)
   • Policy for new NATIONAL rooms: Acceptable for any country or ethnic group.
